frequently asked questions.
here is where you can find all the answers to your questions.
booking & attendance.
Can I use any pass for any session?
not always. kindred play passes are designed for standard play sessions. some standard sessions, such as Tiny Kin Play, run for a fixed duration and must be booked in full.
themed play and signature experiences may have their own ticket price and are not automatically covered by a standard play pass. Your booking page will always show exactly what applies.
What happens if I’m late?
you’re still welcome to join your booked session, but your session will end at the original scheduled time. for fixed-duration programmes or experiences, late arrival may mean missing part of the activity.
What is your cancellation policy?
bookings can be cancelled or rescheduled up to 4 hours before the session. Cancellations made after this point are non-refundable. Where possible, we may offer a credit or transfer in line with the booking terms shown at checkout.
What happens if we don’t show up?
no-shows are non-refundable and cannot be transferred, as your space has been reserved specifically for your family.
Can I transfer my booking to another family?
yes, you can, as long as the session’s age requirements match that of the attending child/children.
please contact us 24 hours before the session start time, so we can update the booking details and make sure the age requirements still apply.
Can I bring an extra child who wasn’t booked?
no. Each child must have a valid booking. This helps us manage capacity, safety and materials accurately.
Can I visit Kindred without a booking?
no. kindred is booking-only so we can prepare each session with care, manage capacity safely, and create a comfortable experience for every family and little one.
What is the difference between standard play, themed play and a signature experience?
standard play includes our regular tiny kin and mixed-age play sessions and is where eligible passes and memberships can be used.
themed play is familiar kindred play with additional seasonal, story-led or curated elements and may have its own pricing.
signature experiences — such as living books, movie to table, workshops and collaborations — are separately programmed and ticketed experiences.
Can I use my Day Pass toward the cost of a special experience?
no. the day pass is a standard-play product rather than stored credit, so it cannot be exchanged or applied toward separately ticketed experiences.
any applicable member discounts or benefits will be shown when booking an experience.
What does my membership include?
memberships are built around access to standard kindred play, according to the benefits of your membership tier.
themed play and signature experiences may be separately ticketed. any member pricing, discounts or priority-booking benefits will be shown when the experience is released.
Are Kindred events and special experiences included in my membership?
they are not automatically included. special experiences may involve additional materials, collaborators, facilitation or programming and therefore have their own ticket price.
members receive the benefits attached to their membership tier, including applicable discounts and priority access.
Will there still be standard play on weekends?
yes. our calendar is designed to balance regular play with special kindred programming.
some weekend periods may be reserved for themed or signature experiences, while other weekend sessions remain available for standard play.
our monthly calendar will always show what is available before bookings open.
Why does the price sometimes change for a themed session?
some sessions include additional materials, facilitation or specially curated elements beyond our regular play setup.
when this happens, the session may have its own price. this will always be clearly shown before booking.
Supervision & childcare.
Is Kindred a childcare service?
no. kindred is a parent/guardian-accompanied play café, not a childcare or drop-off service. a responsible adult must remain on site and actively supervise their child throughout the visit.
Do staff supervise the children?
our team facilitates play, supports activities and helps maintain a safe environment, but parents and guardians remain responsible for supervising their children at all times.
Can I leave the café while my child is playing?
no. a parent or responsible guardian must remain on site for the duration of the visit.
that trio is worth having separately.
Safety & wellbeing.
What happens if my child gets hurt?
our team will assist with basic first-response support and help you access further care if needed, but parents/guardians remain responsible for their child’s medical decisions and supervision.
Do you allow sick children to attend?
for the wellbeing of all families, please do not attend if your child has a fever, vomiting, diarrhoea, a contagious illness, or is otherwise unwell. if your child becomes unwell during a session, we may ask you to end the visit early.
Do you accommodate allergies or additional needs?
please let us know about any relevant allergies, dietary requirements, accessibility needs or additional support needs when booking. We’ll do our best to accommodate where possible, but some activities or menu items may have limitations.
Are adults allowed in the play areas?
yes, where appropriate. Parents/guardians are encouraged to stay engaged and supervise, while also allowing children space for independent exploration.
Passes, memberships & programming.
Can I use any pass for any session?
not always. play passes are designed for standard play sessions. themed play, workshops and signature experiences may have their own pricing and are booked separately unless otherwise stated.
Can I use my Day Pass toward a special experience?
no. day passes are standard-play products and cannot be exchanged or applied as credit toward separately ticketed experiences.
What does my membership include?
memberships cover eligible standard play sessions according to your membership tier. themed play and signature experiences are booked separately.
Do members get discounts on special programming?
yes. kinship members receive 10% off themed play & experiences, and tribeship members receive 15% off themed play & experiences, where applicable.
Are workshops included in memberships?
not automatically. workshops are separately booked unless otherwise stated, with member discounts applied where eligible.
Ages & session suitability.
Why are some sessions age-specific?
age groupings help us create safer, more developmentally appropriate play environments and ensure activities are suited to the children attending.
Can siblings attend together?
where the session allows it, yes. please check the age guidance for each booking. same sessions are intentionally limited to specific age groups.
Can an older sibling join Tiny Kin Play?
only where sibling attendance is specifically included in that session’s booking terms.
Café & food.
Do we need to purchase food or drinks?
no. café purchases are optional unless a specific experience includes food or drink as part of the ticket.
Can we bring outside food?
outside food is generally not permitted, except for baby food, medically required food, or items agreed in advance.
Do you offer vegetarian / dairy-free / plant-based options?
yes — subject to the menu available that day. please check current offerings or contact us before your visit if you have specific requirements.
Can we eat in the play area?
food and drinks should be enjoyed in designated café areas unless a programmed experience specifically includes eating elsewhere.
Practical visit information.
Where can we park?
we currently have 4 medium-sized parking spaces inside the property, plus space for 2 additional cars just outside the gate.
please note that the internal parking is fairly compact, so cars may occasionally need to be moved to allow another family to exit.
for additional parking, families may also use the petrol station opposite kindred, where permitted.
we’re continuing to work on a more convenient long-term parking solution, so we appreciate your patience and cooperation in the meantime.
What should we bring?
comfortable clothing suitable for play, a water bottle if preferred, and any baby/toddler essentials your child may need.
for messy or outdoor activities, we may recommend a change of clothes, sun protection (ex. sunscreen, hats and sunglasses) and any other items you may need for outdoor play.
Do children need socks?
Yes. kindred is a shoes-off space, so children and accompanying adults should bring and wear socks during their visit.
we recommend non-slip/grip socks where possible, especially for younger children. our floors are rough-textured tile rather than smooth flooring, but grip socks can still offer a little extra confidence during active play.
i’d also add this same note in two other places:
- pre-visit / booking confirmation: “Please bring socks for both children and accompanying adults. Grip socks are recommended.”
- what should we bring? FAQ: include socks right near the top, alongside any baby/toddler essentials and a change of clothes for messy play.
Can I bring a stroller?
yes. strollers are welcome and can be parked in our designated outdoor hallway area during your visit.
to help keep the indoor play spaces clear and safe, we ask that strollers remain in the designated parking area rather than inside the main play space.
Is the space suitable for babies?
yes, with dedicated baby/toddler facilities and age-appropriate sessions we provide the conducive and comfortable environment for babies.
Do you have baby and toddler changing facilities?
yes. Kindred has a family bathroom equipped with a shower, making it easier to handle changes, clean-ups and post-play rinses when needed.
we also have a dedicated diaper-changing table and a toddler-friendly bathroom setup designed to make visits more comfortable for younger children and their parents.
Photos & privacy.
Will photos or videos be taken during sessions?
we may occasionally capture photos or video for kindred’s communications and social media. verbal or written consent will be collected. please let us know if you do not want your child photographed or the way in which you are comfortable with us taking photographs/videos.
Behaviour & respect.
What if a child’s behaviour becomes unsafe?
kindred is designed to be calm, welcoming and safe for everyone. if behaviour becomes unsafe or significantly disruptive, we may ask the parent/guardian to step in, take a break, or end the session if necessary
